ba/zw, perf. pass. βέβακται: talk, speak, mostly with reference to one's way of thinking, and consequently of expressing himself; ἄρτια, πεπνῦμένα, εὖ βάζειν, and often in bad sense, ἀνεμώλια, μεταμώνια, ἀπατήλια βάζειν, πάϊς ὣς νήπια βάζεις, pratest, Od. 4.32 ; οὔτε ποτ' εἰν ἀγορῇ διχ̓ ἐβάζομεν οὔτ̓ ἐνὶ βουλῇ, expressed divided sentiments, Od. 3.127 ; ἔπος δ' εἴπερ τι βέβακται δεινόν, if a harsh word has been spoken, Od. 8.408.
